my car insurer auto renewed my policy and started direct debiting the new policy without my approval. (i paid by direct debit installments previously) i was uncontactable as i was out of the country. the insurance was bought through my car dealer which had my updated contact information. i did not instruct them to do auto renewal. on top of that, it wasn't written in the initial policy contract. when i rang to cancel, they refused to refund and is charging me a cancellation fee. they claim that renewing the policy was in my best interest to protect me. however, if i hadn't paid through direct debit, they wouldn't had been able to protect me anyway! should i insist on getting my money back? would the Consumer Rights chamber in WA be able to help?

Ok so I need an FR-44 non owners insurance but I think its impossible to find a non owners policy here in Tampa, Fl. They keep telling me I need prior coverage/ownership of a vehicle. I do have a car but its not under my name(under my dads name) and I do have insurance but its under my dads name also (I put it under his name b/c it was going to be tooooo expensive for me to get it under my name b/c I was a teenager then). My mother is in her 60's she declined coverage thru her employer because she would pay $200 per pay check, gets paid biweekly. She said the rep from the insurance told her she would pay more than her younger coworkers because she is old and needs more health attention, visits medicine etc. Is that true?? Car Insurance for a New Driver?

hi, I just got my license like 2 days ago and I have a question about car insurance. My dad won't let me drive until I get insurance, but he said I have to wait until I actually get my real dirver's license card in the mail. When I asked the dmv how long it would take for me to recieve it, they said like 4-6 weeks. So I was wondering if the insurance company will allow me to have car insurance coverage with my temporary license, or do I actually have to wait until I get my card license to be able to drive. Because if I'm not allowed to get insurance with my temp paper license, then does that mean I'm not allowed to drive? Because then I won't be covered if I get in a car accident right? So I'm not really sure on how this works. Please Help! Thanks

Im 17 and I got my license yesterday. I do not own a car, but I will be using moms car occasionally. My question is if she has car insurance, why do we have to pay extra just for me to drive it? Ive been with my current insurer for a couple of years. I got a speeding fine (3 points) in the summer of 2007. I stupidly didnt declare it with my insurer and missed it off on my renewal. I am now leaving them and going elsewhere and want to come clean and list this conviction in my quote. My question is........ WIll the new company check with the old company about my insurance with them and any convictions? If so will they notice the discrepency and tell my old insurer?
